With construction flying toward an April finish, you’re invited to hop aboard our drone and see all of the exciting progress at the Market Park San Jose retail center — a cornerstone of the dynamic, $3 billion Market Park transit-oriented development adjacent to the Berryessa BART station. See the full brochure.

Safeway expects to open its 65,000 sq. ft. anchor store by the end of next month. Other anchor tenants will soon follow, including CVS pharmacy (13,100 sq. ft.) and Chase (a 4,000 sq. ft. branch). As the eye-catching one-minute video shows, a flurry of tenants have started snapping up the remaining retail units in the 101,000 sq. ft. shopping center. Signings include Carbon Health (2,650 sq. ft. medical clinic), SomiSomi Korean-style soft-serve ice cream treats (1,100 sq. ft. shop) and CoCo, a global bubble tea brand that serves fresh tea and juice (716 sq. ft. store).

Plus, a number of other leases are now being finalized and will be announced soon — with activity throughout the center as hot as the fast-approaching summer weather in Silicon Valley. Based on the current trend, there will only be a few locations remaining in the coming weeks, so retailers are encouraged to reach out right away if they have an interest in serving the upscale Berryessa market.

Plans for South Village Being Finalized

The Market Park San Jose retail center is steps away from the Berryessa BART station in the heart of Market Park’s nearly complete North Village — with its 1,000 townhomes, single-family homes and apartments; additional ground-floor retail; neighborhood park; and walking and riding trails.

But plans are being finalized and entitlements are being obtained through the city for the other half of the stunning Market Park community — 63 acres with additional residential, office and ground-floor retail. Among the anticipated features and amenities are:
  • Up to 3,450 residential units
  • Headquarters-class offices ranging from 1.5 million sq. ft. to as much as 3.4 million sq. ft. of office space
  • Street-level retail and dining in the office towers
  • Additional parks and a community plaza
  • BART and VTA bus service, plus a future freeway interchange at Berryessa Road and Highway 101
